Fans of the massively successful first-person-shooter will need to wait for tentative marketing/official confirmation from CoD developers Infinity Ward and Activision before stocking up on shotguns and band-aids at the local mall. Of course, this is all just second-hand speculation at present. Call of Duty's Zombies narrative called the 'Aether' story has been going on for years now, but it's finally coming to an end with one last episode released this week. Henderson has leaked CoD details before and did previously take to Twitter to hint at a possible expansion of Zombie modes after the official reveal of the Outbreak event, which happened late last month, posting: "Outbreak looks phenomenal. The weapons are fine and the map is solid. The design is alright, but it’s Call of the Dead from Black Ops 1, with an extra room at the top of the mountain. Not if the comments thread is anything to go by! The final DLC and the end to the decade-long Aether story, this Call of Duty Zombies map is bad, but it’s not F tier.

However, it didn't stop fans from getting excited about the prospect of a standalone version. Whether or not Henderson means that Zombies will be more prominently featured in both the campaign and online modes of future Call of Duty: Warzone titles, or if he means that the infamous CoD Zombies are to be given their very own title, is a little murky.
